When you almost border such a naturally valuable area as the Tatra National Park, you cannot pretend that our every action does not affect the environment in a more or less destructive way.

Being aware of how much hotel services place a burden on nature every day, we have opted for ecological solutions in many areas of our business. We strive to leave as small a carbon footprint as possible, and this is what we want to encourage our guests to do - while maintaining a high hotel standard, of course.

We implemented numerous ecological solutions as early as the design stage of the building. As a result, the building is independent of fossil fuels. The heating of the building is based on geothermal energy. So is the hot water. This is provided by Przedsiębiorstwo Energetyki Cieplnej Geotermia Podhalańska S.A.. In addition, we used an intelligent building control system, which includes temperature control. Currently, the temperature in the living quarters is maintained at 22 degrees Celsius during the heating season, but we are considering lowering it to 20-21 degrees. According to scientific studies, this reduction in temperature significantly reduces the carbon footprint (even when using geothermal heat, the carbon footprint is not zero). In addition, all rooms have been equipped with a system to switch off the heating when the windows are open and switch it back on when the windows are closed.

According to Tauron S.A. certificate no. A/N/19780/TS/eK/07.2020, the electricity supplied to the building comes from renewable energy sources as part of the EKO Electricity product (TUV SUD certificate). Nevertheless, we have applied a number of solutions to reduce electricity consumption. All small and large domestic appliances and white goods in the building are at least energy class A+. We have based the lighting on energy-saving technologies, mainly LED technology. All light bulbs, even those that look like incandescent bulbs, are energy-saving bulbs. We have also reduced the energy associated with mowing the grass by setting aside part of the site for a flower meadow, which at the same time increases biodiversity, increases water retention and also lowers the temperature locally on hot days. The hotel's system cuts off the electricity when the card is removed from the reader, which prevents unnecessary consumption of electricity by TVs or chargers that are plugged in during guests' absence. At the same time, appliances such as the fridge are disconnected from this circuit, preventing excessive power consumption when restoring operation. We value Guests who appreciate nature, which is why each parking space in the underground garage has its own electric car charging station.

The building's exterior lighting, based on LED technology, is twilight-controlled. It is designed to avoid light pollution - it has intensity control and is directed towards the building and the ground, not towards the sky.

It doesn't stop there, we will write about our next steps in the next text.
