Polana Szymoszkowa is one of the most popular ski stations in Zakopane. It gets crowded already early in the morning. This is when it is most difficult to park a car. But it is not impossible - a lot of parking spaces have been prepared around the lower station. You can also get to the upper station of the big chairlift. The biggest crowd on the slope is during Christmas (both Christian and Orthodox holidays), a little less during winter holidays. This is when it is best to start skiing at lunchtime - most children are finished with the snow and the lifts become a bit more relaxed. This rule, unfortunately, does not apply at weekends. On those, Szymoszkowa is lively until sunset. After dark, the slope is artificially illuminated. Then it is almost always possible to ski without crowds and queues. Polana Szymoszkowa is not difficult. The route by the small chairlift is almost trivial and a bit boring for anyone who already knows how to ski. But at the same time it is a great place to learn to ski. The piste is wide and very flat. With a length of 400 metres and a difference in level of only 60 metres (average gradient of 10%), any beginner skier or snowboarder can manage it. Most importantly, even on this small slope you will travel by chairlift, not by drag lift. This means we will only waste energy learning to ski and not driving up! The long route by the big cable car on Polana Szymoszkowa is two, completely different routes. But you have to start by getting off the ski lift. In the case of Szymoszkowa, we do not get off ''straight ahead'', but wait until the chair turns left. Get off to the side. And this is where the nightmare of many beginner snowboarders begins. The slope at the top lift station is quite steep and, in view of the crowded slope, many snowboarders fasten their boards almost right next to the chair because they do not know how or do not want to go any further. Many people fall over when getting off the chair. Beginner snowboarders will find it easiest to disembark from the chairlift from the extreme seat on the right-hand side without any problems. The first section of the piste is difficult and steep. On warm days, moguls form on it, which reduce the comfort of the ride almost to zero. The more beginner skiers and snowboarders on the piste - the more moguls, as most of them cover this section by ""ploughing"". The first steepness is quickly over. However, up to the middle of the slope the piste is considered difficult. After that, there is a flattening out. If you slow down from the first section of the slope - by the end of the flat, you may run out of steam to continue. This happens especially in wet and very slow snow.
